Tom Cretella:

Tom has the unique experience of having seen the evolution of our health care and insurance systems. Following in the ‘family business’ in 1971 as a life insurance specialist for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, he soon recognized that his clients needs went far beyond representing one carrier insurance. He expanded into Property and Casualty, Health Insurance, Disability Insurance, Annuities and Variable products.

By 1976 Tom had earned his professional designation of CLU®. The Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU ®) is the world’s most respected designation of insurance expertise. While working for the Life Underwriting Training Council from 1980 to 1985, Tom taught insurance at the University of New Haven. In 1985 he earned Connecticut’s Certified Insurance Consultant License (Life & Health) designation. Tom is a current/past member of numerous boards, advisory councils, and insurance associations. His education, industry involvement and pragmatic experience have made him a respected resource for both health insurance industry and for his clients.

David Belowsky:

Starting from a very early age, David always knew he wanted to open his own business. After attending Quinnipiac University and getting his Bachelor of Science in Business, he got job at Bache & Company, a stock brokerage house and after went to work for Metropolitan Insurance. Following Metropolitan, he received extensive training at Employers Insurance of Wausau, a workers comp and business insurance carrier, and specialized in Commercial coverages. After 4 years in the insurance industry, David decided it was finally time to start his own company, Belowsky & Associates in 1980.

David has always had a personal approach to insurance, and likes to think of himself as a “hands-on” agent. He treats every client, as he would want to be treated and strongly believes in client advocacy. David is committed to being involved in his community. He is on the board of Boys and Girls Village and has been working with the association for over 20 years. He has also been the President of Orange Hills Men’s association for the past year before that Vice president for 15 years. Along with those associations, David has been the President/commission of New Haven Parks Dept. since 1993. His industry experience and local involvement make him the real ‘neighborhood’ agent. You can be assured that his mind set is 24/7. David takes the insurance business with vigor and always goes the extra mile.
